Last week we reported on the chaos & confusion that dishonest trolls were creating on Chaturbate. This week we are sharing more specific examples of what these malicious trolls are doing to create such chaos & confusion in chat rooms. But first a security tip: It is recommended that all performers login using the usual Chaturbate login page rather than a link that may have been sent to you. This will help to keep you safe from possible fraudulent activity by trolls attempting to steal your tokens & money.
A long-time camsite member, who enjoys supporting camguys was recently banned for the third time because he was reported by trolls. According to our research, he didn't do anything wrong. When he saw a troll account in a chat room, he'd simply alert the camguy & other users. He shared an email with CGN that he sent to customer service & an executive at Chaturbate regarding this situation:
"For the third time, you have banned me from your site for doing absolutely NOTHING wrong. I have violated no TOS and never will. I have been a loyal, contributing moderator on your site for years, but, NOT any longer if this injustice is left to stand. I openly oppose the hackers who try to steal tokens from your cammers, and trolls, and even mods who support them. Therefore, I am a threat to them. So, they undoubtedly LIE about me to you because they know you react to their FALSE emails. I have sent screenshots of death threats made to me on your site. I will send more evidence of their blatant LIES and threats in this email."
You can see for yourself below some of the threats the member has been experiencing in multiple rooms across the Chaturbate camsite. It has steadily gotten much worse & threatening the longer this is allowed to continue. This type of behavior detracts from the camguy making it harder for him to collect tips & cannot be tolerated any longer...
As you can see the trolls create user names that are very similar & often use the names of valid users as we pointed out in last week's article. This is just one of the ways these trolls are creating chaos & confusion in chat rooms. Can you imagine how challenging it must be for camguys to collect tips & for users to enjoy the show when activity such as this is allowed to take place?
CGN is in contact with a security expert who is helping members in their fight against these trolls. He sent Chaturbate the email below, which he also posted on Twitter with suggestions on how to solve the problem quickly:
"Chaturbate has a big troll problem. It is costing you time, money, and resources. I have a simple solution and am looking for no money from you. All of CB's accounts should have an email &/or phone number. This is how Twitter and the other social media sites do it. No email address or phone number should be associated with more than three accounts. This change will not impact legitimate users and won't take much money or time for you to make. Additionally, it will prevent trolls and the automated bots from creating multiple accounts. Please know all I am looking for is a safer, more secure and sane Chaturbate."
As we previously mentioned always use the main website login & don't follow links sent in an email or chat. When in doubt, always review & question any links. You should use the option of Multi-Factor Authentication whenever possible to protect your accounts too. These safety measures are necessary, because it appears that some of these trolls are hackers attempting to gain favor with newer camguys by grooming: using tips & compliments to gain trust. They will then ask to become a moderator for the camguy & take the room over silencing anyone (even tippers) who try to help the new camguy out. Once trust is fully established the troll/moderator will then tell the camguy to login using a fake website where they will then take over the account & all of the camguys earned tokens.
Other ways for camguys to protect themselves is to check a user's profile before they get too friendly or give them moderator privileges. A real Chaturbate user will have an established profile with followers & details about themselves most likely. Another way a camguy can protect himself is to ask his highest tippers or even other camguys to verify potential moderators.
Camsites are meant to be fun for members & allow camguys to enjoy themselves while earning money too. If a camguy or member of any camsite should ever feel threatened take screen shots if possible & report it to the camsite immediately. Also, check out our CGN ' Juvenile Trolls on Chaturbate' page.

DeleteI can only share my experience as a new cammer. I made the mistake of allowing a member of this so called "cb brigade" to mod my room and within a few hours they had completely taken over my room. They wanted me to mod all 5 of them. They never tip but they will control the chatroom completely. It appears they are the only ones allowed to chat in the room. I felt like a good mod would stay in the background and allow others to chat. Not this group. They were the only ones chatting with just silly gibberish. In short, they ruined my room. Many guys on cb do not like this group. When they are modding, most of the big tippers just move on to other rooms. All cammers should be "aware" and stay clear of them. They are bullies and think the room belongs to them. Here are a few of their names that I can remember. I quit camming after making this huge mistake. lotsip, lookingfornessie, fordhn, boredinpa69, hellojeff, bryan_and_mark, crazycoffeedude.
ReplyDeleteGood moderators keep the chat room going so the performer can concentrate on their show. Sometimes this means a moderator needs to attempt to get some activity going in the rooms while other times it means you shouldn't even know they are a moderator. I'm sorry you quit camming & I must say that I've had different experiences with several of those that you list. Maybe they just weren't a good fit for what you needed which happens sometimes or perhaps Chaturbate wasn't the right camsite which is often overlooked but talked about at length during a track in the YNOT Webcam Summit this week.
DeleteI also want to add that a performer has the ultimate control over their chat room. This includes when the broadcast occurs, what the show will consist of each time, who will be granted moderator privilidges & how the room is to be moderated, & also whether a moderator remains part of the rooms moderator team because the performer not a moderator has ultimate control of the room.

ReplyDeleteThis blog was bought to my attention by another cb model. I am a cb model and a regular viewer on cb. One of my first shows on cb was taken over by wannabe moderators and those that did not agree or like them .My chat was taken over by arguments between the 2 factions .My opinion of the wannabe mods such as lotsip, lookingfornessie , stev00, b3000 and others was that did not seem to be suitable individuals to moderators in my room or any others. Whilst those that obviously did not like “the mod squad” it was the likes of lotsip and others that initiated the subject of moderating and that I needed to have a moderator.Acusations of the mod squad that the others were hackers and were baseless accusations with no reliable evidence and when pushed for validation of the latter none was forthcoming .To openly accuse others of being hackers in an open chat forum such as chaturbate , is at best irresponsible. My understanding is that this is one of the reasons that lotsip and others were banned temporarily from the site, justifiably so, I think. As for the requirement for me to have a moderator, I am now aware that this is far from the case. Chaturbate has some excellent bots and apps which are simple to use .Quote from lotsip, “there is lots of spam in your chat , you need a trusted mod” This is incorrect and thankfully someone advised me that all that I needed to do was launch a bot called “CAPTCHA” and apply it to all users regardless of colour. This totally illuminated all of the bots and spam and 99% of other models advertising their rooms. The same person advised me of other useful bots and apps such as auto thankyou and rotating notifier. So, I was able to thank tippers and also post the rate, follow gifs etc and other information within chat. So quite simply the statement from lotsip and others that I needed a moderator to deal with these things was wholly incorrect and I can only assume that an ulterior motive of being appointed as my moderator was involved. New cammers , especially , seemed to be preyed upon by the like s of lotsip and his associates .As a viewer I have noticed rooms with less that 150 viewers have a group of 4 or more moderators in their rooms which seems like overkill and merely an excuse to dominate rooms and intimidate those that do not agree with them. Had I been given all the information by these wannabe moderators I could have made more informed choices and had less drama in my room. People only make the best decisions when supplied with all the information and not just the information that people wish to share in the hope that they will be appointed moderators.
ReplyDeleteI think the solution to all this unnecessary drama which seems to be more about individuals wanting to moderators , is for chaturbate to stop moderating and advise cammers of how to use the apps and bots , which are free and relatively simple to use and are drama free and come with no baggage in the form of mods and their haters.Should I or any other new cammer start on chaturbate perhaps inform us of these bots and apps and how they are used , this doesn’t not require a moderator but simply someone to post in chat , we only need to be told once .
I believe my earlier response here about the performer having ultimate control over their chat room is very true, & provides an appropriate response. If you don't need a moderator, great, but many others will have a difference of opinion which is okay too & the article suggests things to consider when contemplating moderator privilidges. Most of the moderators you mention I've had nothing but great interactions with here on CGN & on Chaturbate where they have no clue who I am either. So I observe a lot whether it be in ultra busy rooms like Liam Jacobs, Johnny Stone's, Leo West's, or a slightly slower but active one like Sexypornhot's.

I'd be very careful in saying that it is baseless as such actions occur everyday (across the internet) & evidence in legal matters, yes legal, isn't paraded around in public as you are asking it to be in this case. Chaturbate isn't telling those banned why they were banned, how do you know? Very curious. I also find it interesting that the one thing you chose not to mention is the ongoing death threats, are these justified too?
As a former moderator, I will only say that moderators do serve a purpose on the site, but the final authority in a cam model's room is the cam model himself. A moderator only has as much power and authority as the cam model allows. The moment a moderator stops acting in accordance to the guidelines the model sets, or does something the model does not approve of, that is when the model must reassert control and either inform the moderator that he has a problem with what the moderator just did, or de-mod the member immediately.
ReplyDeleteIf a model chooses to appoint someone as a moderator, he should observe how the moderator behaves in the chat. Silencing bots, freeloaders, and self-advertisers; providing information to new arrivals; encouraging tipping without being a bully; thanking tippers (especially if the model is preoccupied); these are all things a moderator should do in accordance to the model's preferences and with his approval. Some of this behavior can be observed before a model selects a member to be a moderator.
In the end, a model should only appoint a member he trusts will behave and work in his (the model's) best interest, whether by a reasonably good relationship with the member, or after observing the member during a "trial period." And always with the awareness that he (the model) may need to reclaim the room authority if the moderating gets out-of-hand.

ReplyDeleteWorthy of note, most regular moderators are usually older. There are few regular moderators that are young. If a list of the regular mods were to be complied over 80 % would be considerable older than the models that they moderate for. Why would anyone spend time and effort silencing bots when the process can be very simply automated by using a bot such as CAPTCHA.I think it’s hilarious. Many other functions that moderators perform can now be automated with the use of bots and apps very easily. The time has come to realise that the future has arrived and moderators are for the most part an obsolete requirement and this blog seems to be about people trying to hang on to something that is no longer needed to the extent that is currently the case. Perhaps 10 years ago moderators had an important role to play. It is plain to see that anyone that does not think the same as the many moderators are called trolls, hackers and many other derogatory names. Creating a group to counter the actions of others, that would not act in the way they do, but for the fact that people insist and deceive, in order to gain some control over models’ rooms. This causes more drama than any benefit moderators insist is the case. Chaturbate is a great site. It is time to let the past go and step into the future and accept the improved technologies that now exist and that will continue to improve.

Once again for good measure, it is a performers choice how they want to manage their chat room whether they use apps or moderators. This blog is far from what you suggest, see previous statement that has been mentioned countless times in this thread.
DeleteI don't spend a whole lot of time on Chaturbate, but from what I have been observing the trend appears to be the slower the chat room the less likely they are to use moderators, whereas the more active rooms often have multiple moderators. One of the top camguys on Chaturbate just told me he prefers moderators because the moderators are an extension of his voice & a bot/app cannot do that so he has no plans on changing. Every camguy has different needs & those needs change sometimes depending on the type of show so I say let the camguy choose their path whether it be using a more personal touch or automated.
People should think for themselves & avoid group think but also hopefully get along with those who have differing opinions. However, some aren't capable of this & choose to disrupt, attempt to create chaos, & even level death threats. There are way too many screen shots of this occurring & you along with a few others choose not to even mention the death threats. Why? Is it somehow okay? So what do you call someone who attempts to do all of this? The hacking situation is completely separate, due to the legal nature of this I have been advised to no longer comment on it.
What camguys & members tell me they want is drama-free & fun Chaturbate. Unlike some other camsites there really is a chat room to suit the tastes of everyone. It is a shame what is taking place & at the end of the day the only people it is really hurting is the camguys on the site. I hope Chaturbate cleans up their camsite of all this activity, but until then I am pretty sure something will be forthcoming that will bring some positive vibes back to Chaturbate.

I agree, I have seen too many moderators in a room & wish it would be limited based on the number of viewers. But, my stance is defer to the camguy since its his chat room. It is too bad these apps are overly complex, would be nice if Chaturbate could develop their own that are easier to use.

Clearly they are all new and have no idea what they are talking about. It's laughable.

Nobody said camguys are too stupid, those are your own words. Not everyone is comfortable with technology or figuring it out, it may be simple for some but not others especially when their income could be affected if something isn't working as they hoped. So as we agree, let the camguy decide on how to best manage their rooms.

There is no place or excuse for that type of behavior & I'd hope most would agree as this has been frustrating since nobody has wanted to address it. I don't care who is responsible, it needs to stop. Regarding Kinkyboynz86, I've only interacted with him once (yesterday) so I cannot respond as to what he has posted somewhere but invite him to respond here if he should chose to.
There is no UNLESS it is Lotsip. You provide some chat, but why were members being banned to begin with? The reason for some being called trolls is due to their own behavior, but again what is the reason for this behavior in the first place? It doesn't come about for no reason. Can everyone not co-exist in a chat room without attempting to turn a model on members? I hope this goes somewhere, I have been contacted by several camguys who have been on the receiving end of this & shared some interesting information but all they really want is for this all to stop.
And now today, I just received a report of a member on Chaturbate using "camguynews" as their username making fun of moderators. Again, why this type of behavior? You wonder why some are called trolls, there is your answer. I can assure you my username on Chaturbate isn't camguynews, CGN, or anything remotely close to those.
We have evidence proving the illegal threats and stalking on Chaturbate is in violation of 18 U.S. Code § 2261A.Stalking and 47 U.S.C. 223 as well as many state laws. This includes the posting of the death threat gifs as seen in the original article here and ones known to cause seizures (attempts to cause, or would be reasonably expected to cause substantial emotional distress to a person). There is also evidence of Chaturbate allowing phishing attacks where these malicious accounts are attempting to get users and camguys to go to chaturbate look-alike sites to steal their identities and tokens. Law enforcement and legal authorities have been notified of this.

The accounts that are doing this are very similar to valid chaturbate user accounts. For example, the users conducting this illegal activity used a grey account brlteyez to look like my valid account. It's a typical hacker trick of changing an "l" for an "i." This is a weak attempt to fool site users and continue to harass valid site users.
Chaturbate needs to put preventive measures in place to prevent this illegal activity on their platform. There are many simple, low cost-solutions in place on other social media sites that Chaturbate could follow. Chaturbate also needs to make a public statement about how they are addressing these issues.
Let work together for a safe and sane Chaturbate.

DeleteAgree with the last anon comment. I would love to hear an explanation/response by General LOTSIP why he is a troll and thinks he is the Governing body on Chaturbate. I have witnessed him and his clan move in and completely take over 3 rooms in just the last few weeks. There is a new model named Frostylink who is a very kind and good-looking model. I would encourage anyone reading this post to visit his room just to experience the utter puke-worthy blather from the 6 mods. I am in the room while writing this post. The mods are of course, Lotsip, kinkyboynz86, crazycoffeedude08, xobeath, bryan_and_mark, b3000. Now seriously, are this many mods needed? Not only do the mods control the room but they make up about 80% of the chat.
ReplyDeleteAnother recent conquest by General Lotsip is Ayden_d. A very popular model who started in 2020. He had the previous mod unmodded and removed from the room. Not sure how anyone can obtain this much control on CB. Lastly, I noticed last night General Lotsip has taken over possibly the most popular, temporary model on CB Y0ungblood19. He and his friend made 40,000 tokens in a single show. He had a previous mod as well that was unmodded and removed. What the hell is going on with this site is sickening. Some ask why is Lotip trolled. Now you know. I am not a troll. I am a former model who quit because of this blatant controlling nature of some of the guys on the site. General Lotsip comes into a room with his gang and start pming the model. Within about 5 minutes, they have complete control of the room. Everyone who is a viewer on CB should be more concerned about this behavior instead of a few silly trolls who no one cares about.
This is the most serious issue facing CB at the moment. Trolls have been around since the beginning of social media. Trolls will always be around. Power and control by some users is by far the most concerning issue on CB. Not a few silly asinine trolls who most users could care less. Yes, they are annoying and can be easily kicked out or ignored. Completely taking over the model's room and becoming mods cannot be simply kicked out or ignored.
As far as briteyzz, you need to educate yourself more before commenting on something you know so little about. Pretending to be a lawyer is not very becoming or needed to get a point across. If you defend the actions of Lotsip, then you sir are part of the problem. I highly suggest you educate yourself more of all the activities before commenting.
I do not condone trolling or any of the gifs posted above. However, I hardly define them as a "death threat". The owner of Cam Guy News should be writing articles about this "power hungry" group of guys who is trying to eliminate the other mods who are not very well known or do not have the resources (money and power in numbers) that General Lotsip has attained. Lotsip needs to be stopped. I encourage the owner of Cam Guy News maybe doing an interview with Pistol and find out why he is using slight of hand and deceptive tactics to "fighting the trolls" and just "protecting the models" while he takes over CB. As a former performer, you are the one who has full control over your chat room which includes whether you use mods, how many you use, whether you keep them or not, use camsite tools to remove disruptive members, etc. Those are all the performers responsibility ultimately & nobody else makes those decision for the room.
DeleteI was in Kegan Keller's (Y0ungblood19) room the night you mention he & Alan earned 40,000 tokens. There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with how the room was moderated that evening & everyone by all accounts had an amazing time, several thousand of them to be exact. If my memory serves me correct 200 crazy tickets were sold quickly at 200 tokens each. Kegan is also happy with the job his current group of moderators is doing too.
I'm sorry, but your argument for why Lotsip is being trolled just fell flat, really hard too.
I will admit that I've been spending more time on Chaturbate than usual recently enjoying shows & observing how some moderators, many of those you mention above & many others too, go about moderating a chat room. Over the last week I've seen great examples of moderating rooms & haven't seen any of what is being suggested, at least yet.
I do agree with you that trolls have been around forever. However, when adults act juvenile disrupting a camguys performance interferring with his ability to earn tokens something needs to be done. Yes, others do care about those silly trolls you mention both camguys & viewers alike.
Briteyezz can speak for himself, but I have been advised by a lawyer not to comment on certain topics going forward which involve hacking. Chaturbate does need to start taking action on the death threats (glad you are against them btw.) before it gets further out of hand & more of their resources have to be directed toward it. Let's all just have fun Chaturbate & drop all the petty behavior so we can all just enjoy shows.
It is nice to see other models have had similar experiences. I lost interest in camming after about 2 months because of this same group of control "power hungry" guys. Lotsip does appear to be the leader of the clan. I had a mod for about the first 3 shows. Lotsip entered my room and began to express concern over the mean trolls in the room who would run off all my customers. He shows this disingenuous concern for my safety and my success on CB. I could tell immediately that it was a tactic used full of deception to seize control over my room. Fortunately, I was smart enough to see through the fake concern.
ReplyDeleteAfter this first experience, I spoke to about 4 other models who were in the same demo as I am. Young, white, smooth, and friendly. That is the type of model they go after. Lotsip will not take time to play his deceptive games unless the model has a chance to really explode with popularity. I wisely made the right decision to mod another very well known mod who is very well liked. However, Lotsip would continue to visit my room every show to see if he could take over my room from my current mod. I found him to be extremely creepy and conniving. I am only 18 yo. Lotsip is at late 60's. I find that gross to no end.
I also, would like to see Cam Guy News do a report on this type of activity. I would make myself available for an interview. I even would consider starting back camming if this disturbing trend would be addressed. However, after reading the most recent post, it appears to be ever more prevalent. All readers of this blog need to educate themselves about the nasty and cruel tactics being used by Lotsip, kinkyboynz86, fordhn, lookingfornessie, hellojeff, xobeath, ccd, and many more. They claim to have a group of 30 or more who are trying to dominate CB. Please be aware of this frightening trend.
It was your chat room, you are responsible for making all the decision & you seem to have understood that from beginning which is good. If someone visits your room, just tell them I don't need a moderator but you are welcome to stay & enjoy the show if want. You probably should realize your audience is going to be diverse on a site like Chaturbate & consist of all ages, hell I was in a slow room on Flirt-4-Free not long ago chatting & the other member chatting said he was 75.

I have been a victim of it too, someone using this blogs name as a username on Chaturbate making fun of a moderator & other trolling behavior.
I will refer you to my response above (especially the 4th paragraph) regarding what I have been observing in many of the chat rooms where I have been looking for certain behaviors. Nobody with the exception of two camguys knows my Chaturbate username either (had it for over 5 years) so nobody knows if a certain behavior might end up in an article or the camguy himself may end up getting a performer recommendation article.
Mr Cam guy, you have an interesting spin on all your comments. You are very intelligent and very professional. However, you do not address any of the concerns expressed above. Did you visit the room of frostylink? What is your reply concerning 6 mods with 200 viewers? Did they chat more than the actual viewers and tippers? Is this good mod etiquette? I will wait.............. You did not address the complete takeover of y0ungblood19's room? Do you know who was his original mod? Want to take a guess? Do you think he just quit or left CB? I could give you about 4 other rooms this year but these are the most recent. All you did in your response to the above comments is keep saying trolls are bad and need to stop. Not once did you address the huge 800 pound gorilla in the room. Is trolling a bigger concern than bullying and having the non conformers (who are not lotsip's ass lickers) kicked from the room just because. No other reason. I would say this is a much bigger problem than a few trolls.
I will prevent you from having to research too much. The original mod for both ayden_d and y0ungblood19 didnt just disappear. He is still around. He was just rudely and disrespectfully overtaken by this large group led by "you guessed it" lotsip. Therefore, I would encourage you to pay better attention to this surge of this powerful group under the guise of "we are protecting the model". I have watched lotsip try and move in on many models while their regular mods are away on a trip or not currently logged in. I wish you would do an article on this odd occurrence or would it "ruffle some feathers" of some of your allies? I will wait for a response with baited breathe. Thanks.
Actually, your concerns were addressed but not to your liking. I've lost track of how many times I've wrote in this articles comments that it is the camguys choice as to how he wants his room managed. If it is no moderators or 6 moderators for 200 viewers, great, it is ultimately the camguys choice & nobody else. As I stated above, I haven't seen the behavior, at least yet, that you mention in my visits to the camguys rooms you mention. Regarding who was/is moderators in certain rooms, it is the camguys choice who has those priviliges & who keeps them too. If a moderator doesn't like other room moderators, well it is their choice to remain or not & tell the camguy the reason for their decision (how I'd handle it). As Jackson Luick wrote above it really is sounding like jealousy.
DeleteI do understand moderators need to gauge what the room needs at any given time whether it be answering questions about the performer so he can concentrate on his performance, helping sell tickets, just getting the chat going to encourage the performer, thanking for tips, etc. They can also be part of the chat enjoying the show while still keeping promoters/disruptive members in check & what are they to do when members enter the room & say hello directly to them, ignore them? It is a chat room.
To me, trolling & bullying really do go hand in hand as that is what is being attempted here. It all needs to stop regardless of who is doing it so the camguy can perform his show & earn tokens. Only on a rare occasion have I seen a member banned for no reason (an error) at all in a chat room, just haven't seen it happen. It should never happen either as it could cost the camguy tokens.
I don't have allies, if I did they'd know my username. I have one reader who has been around since day one who I enjoy regular chats with & he privately weighed in on this. He's first hand experienced the pettiness, jealousy, & been attacked on Chaturbate so he longer goes to the camsite. If I ever do witness this inappropriate behavior by a moderator or group most certainly I will gather my notes for a piece.
I encourage everyone to put the camguy in the chat room first & check any grievances or attitudes at the login page so everyone can enjoy the camsite with out being attacked, get death threats, or trolled using various names which I know a little something about.

However, that is not the issue at hand. We are just not syncing in a telepathic understanding way. Again, my concern is what the models are told by some of these "power hungry" cb members who are so willing to just throw away their former, very loyal mod and chose them to take over the room. Does that make it easier to understand? I will provide a few examples. That way you can understand clearly the biggest problem facing CB today. Again, it is not a few silly trolls.
I was sent one of these pm's by one of the members of pistol's gang. I will not put that on here for all to see. It is kind of embarrassing. Lets just say it goes something like this, "Hey, we are a large group of 30 or so mods and models who are ridding the site of all trolls who hurt and demean others. They will cause your room problems and run off most of your tippers. We are a very powerful group with guys who have deep pockets. wink wink. We are good friends with the best tipper on cb. His user name is CG. Everyone knows him. We can bring him to your room. We will mod your room and train you how to spot the trolls and get rid of them." Now that is paraphrased of course but very similar to how the program works. Well if you are naive model who only knows "trolls are bad" and "this member is promising me tons of tips" what would you do? hmmmmm I will wait...........
Anyway, sorry I had to drill down so deeply to get my point across. Now again, do you find this to be a problem? The tactics used to take over a room are no different than how people are conned and manipulated in real life. Does this concern you Cam Guy? I will wait........... This is what I suggest you should do an article on. As a (former) new model myself, I found this extremely disturbing. No one should be making promises of large tippers to gain control of the model's room. Now, I am just a viewer and still chat with my friends made during the 4 months I did cam. Regardless of what is said between the performer & member when discussing moderator privileges it is still ultimately the performer’s choice whether or not the member is a good fit for their room or an addition to their existing team of moderators. Allow me to go on further…
DeleteIf a moderator can bring members to a performers chat room that is a one member’s advantage over other possible moderators. As long as it is true, I don’t view it as being conned or manipulated because at the end of the day it is all about the tokens for 99% of performers. So I don’t see it as taking over a chat room as long as they are doing what is asked of them & what they promised in this case. It is really no different in the ‘real world’, when interviewing a prospective employee or independent group if they have the relationships to bring financial gain, I find this out during our interview & then go about doing my due diligence confirming it. Much like a performer should do if a prospective moderator tells him this. It may sound like a lot, but a performer can easily message a few other performers asking them for their opinions & I have found other performers usually are more than willing to help other performers. I can easily provide specific examples from everyday business, but the correlation should be easy to see. Although I’d hope managing a chat room isn’t as difficult! LOL
I was chatting with my friend earlier tonight… He hasn’t seen any of this behavior during his time on Chaturbate, even when he was spending more time on the site. The only example of an out of control moderator we could come up with was Anniegirl143, I don’t know if she is part of this group or even around any longer. She made the chat room all about her & actually kept many big tippers out of chat rooms she was in (moderator or not). She was just nasty to others despite herself only having one token in her account which was sent to her by a performer, so I am told. She is still probably wondering why Flirt-4-Free banned her like 7 times!
As an update, the rooms I was in tonight were all being managed quite well, y0ungblood19 aka Kegan Keller verbally praised his team of moderators saying he couldn’t do any of this without them. I was also in Booker_Baxton’s room tonight with a moderator that was previously mentioned, again chat room was well managed. I know the point now is how those mods were put in those positions, but the performers were all very happy, relaxed, & were being tipped quite well too.

Cam guy, thanks for being very respectful. You are very good at debating as well. You guys take care and just be aware you are being watched. This complete take over of a new model's room will not be tolerated based on the guise of "We are the CB Secrurity Force. We are here to save you from the nasty trolls." Members should not be pming models asking to mod their rooms at all. Also, there needs to be a balanced dialogue on this site for all to enjoy. The trolls are not good for CB no more than a bullish group of high profile members are in fairness to the models. That is what we all are here for, the model. They are the lifeblood of CB. I need to correct some things - I don't have multiple usernames as I mentioned already & use the same one on every camsite so camguys who work multiple sites will recognize me. I think a camsite should only allow one username per account, some do others allow more. Also when signing up for an account, more information should be required to access the camsite.
DeleteWhen writing an article I don't anticipate what the reaction will be, everyone should have their own opinions which I don't think anyone is disputing. The goal of the article was to let camguys (members) know what is taking place on Chaturbate & how to protect themselves or look out for. I have never been a big fan of Chaturbate & what is taking place (including trolling using camguynews as a username) makes me think even less of the camsite. Just my opinion.
Is there a group on Chaturbate who are moderators? Yes. I just don't see how bringing a big spender into a chat room is a big deal, its good for the camguy. If another moderator gets displaced or gets their feeling hurt, think about it, is it really that big of a deal because if that is the worst thing that happened to them that day I'd say they are doing well, they volunteer moderators!
Thank you for coming by Deancovid19. Our views on this situation just don't align & for the record - I don't think moderators are needed as every camsite except Chaturbate gets along just fine, but it is a feature so the camguy can decide what is best for him.

ReplyDeleteFirstly, I am a former model who has not cammed in about 8 months. It became too difficult to make money for some of the reasons listed below. Also, I would recommend the anon above get his facts correct before commenting. If not, you risk embarrassing yourself like briteeyz. CG is not even in the top 100 big tippers on CB. He is possible top 10 tippers in the solo gay genre. However, there are many more big tippers who only watch straight couples and/or girl on girl action. There are many European and Middle Eastern Yuge tippers on cb. So CB would not miss CG.

I am a very good-looking masculine model who should have no problem making good money on this site. However, the group listed above is what compelled me to comment on this blog.
I have never to this day seen any of them mod or even crack the door on a room of a model who is not young, smooth, boyish, and white. This large group of old, wealthy white members should be more willing to help out the young black models unless of course they are racist.
The group I am referring to is lostip, lookingfornessie, xobeath, crazycoffeedude, boredinpa69, hellojeff, kinkyboynz86, fordhn, lancer69 and link2050 to name a few. They move around cb like a bunch of pariahs. They will move in and take over rooms like Al-Qaeda take over countries in the Middle East. My concern is that they will never mod or visit the young black models. They need tips and mods too. Now you let a new, young white boy come on and they run to the room like vultures.
I just wonder if this group is not racist. I wish one or all of them would reply and tell the cb world why they will not ever mod or tip the young black models. This group has many good tippers and wealthy members. I may even start back camming if they would help the brothers out. Thanks. Jay

DeleteCB absolutely would miss Centurion-God, or any big tipper, given the current economic environment. It is well known revenues are down on camsites & it was discussed recently at the YNOT Webcam Summit where performers & camsites offered encouragement & suggestions to performers on maximizing their income through their existing fan base.
In your second paragraph you mention “I have quit camming as of about 8 months ago mainly because of lack of tippers. I am a very good-looking masculine model who should have no problem making good money on this site.” I’ve heard this nearly verbatim for years from camguys not achieving their income goals. While not mentioned, the word “Expect” is heavily implied & is often the problem. Being a good looking camguy doesn’t entitle anyone to anything, it takes a lot more as literally hundreds of camguys are online across 8-10 top camsites at a given time. It takes being genuine, welcoming, fun & outgoing, playfulness, being open minded, & gracious while not “Expecting” anything are keys to webcamming.
I’ve previously responded ad-naseum about my anonymous observations about “taking over a room” comments. I’ve visited over 100 Chaturbate chat rooms in the last 30 days & have yet to find anything like what is being described. It appears one of the members mentioned above has responded to your message, Lotsip/Pistol.
Chaturbate has a lot of issues right now, their cybersquatting legal cases were just settled so I hope they get to work on some of these other disruptive issues. You really cannot force anyone to visit your chat room other than do your best to connect with those who do visit & get their help promoting the room with you on social media. I get asked to do that a lot, as long as I’ve visited the chat room & the camguy meets the keys mentioned two paragraphs up I have no problem doing it. It might also be helpful for you as a former black camguy to contact Chaturbate sharing your experiences, also ask for better home-page placement like studios get for their new camguys – not many independent performers know about this.
The assumption that our group is racist is absurd. Personally, I have many black friends, and three black nephews who i spent much time with and love dearly. kindalong69 has not cammed in over a year. I have not been on cb very long, but I have also noticed this group never even bothers to help any models who cannot generate over 600 viewers. Also, it may be wise to find some current black models that need mods. Maybe some who are not associated with other white models. Just a suggestion. That would help your reputation tremendously. Personally, I have never seen any of that group mentioned above in a black model's room. I was in a room today who needed a mod terribly. The model is Likbbc. He had about 500 viewers. I would love to see you guys in his room helping him earn some to as you say pay his bills.

It is no different than the tactics used by the trolls accusing others of recording their shows. I see very little difference in your group of control agents as I do in the trolls. Which chat rooms they moderate mean absolutely nothing & calling them racist because of this is preposterous. To think someone not visiting a black model is racist is bullshit. Chaturbate is sex and socializing so we end up in models rooms we are attracted to. If someone isn't attracted to black models or latin models it is personal preference not racism. If someone doesn't visit a 400 pound white model or a model who has a smaller dick what is this? Several days ago I visited Frostylink's room again. There were several of the members mentioned above there but nothing close was taking place as is being described. I was there when he first logged in & yes they were chatting among themselves but the entire room would have been crickets if they weren't. The other 2 times I've been in his rooms it was like most other rooms on Chaturbate. Regarding who I visit, I have visited over 100 camguys on Chaturbate in the last 3 weeks, so my horizons aren't big enough & I have blinkers on?

Prior to all of this I had been spending next to no time on Chaturbate as I don't really care for the site, but in the last few weeks I've found some nice & interesting camguys on the site. If you read the blog's previous posts you'd know that most of my time is spent on Flirt-4-Free with increasing time on Strip Chat which I am really starting to enjoy as most of the same camguys that are on Flirt-4-Free & many on Chaturbate I've met cam on that site simultaneously.

DeleteCamguy, the described behavior above in Frostylink's room occurred his first week of camming for the most part. He has been a model now for at least 1.5 months I would guesstimate. That is why he struggles to get over 300 viewers which exposes another odd set of circumstances by our favorite pistol clan. They tend to move on once the model's shiny "new" coat of paint has been tarnished. They will seek out the next shiny object. Sorry you are about a month behind. I have been amazed at the many, diversified comments made on this subject. You run a very good blog and you are appreciated. Take care.

ReplyDeleteCamGuyNews, reading these comments, it is clear to me that the same CB troll, or trolls, who disrupt shows on the CB site are the same ones posting bullshit here. He/they keeps criticizing the same names over and over again...... under different names, but in the same order! LOL!
I have been around CB many years, and these guys, including lotsip, kinky, b3000, crazycoffee, and others have been on CB "FOREVER" without incident! All of a sudden we are to believe they are trolls making trouble? Now THERE is your troll!
I know this because it is precisely the M.O. of the trolls on CB. They make false accusations in rooms of guys they do not like, like what is being done here. Repeat a lie often enough and people will think it is true. A tactic right out of the Trump playbook.
CB has been flooded with emails regarding this and they say they are investigating. I have sent them screen shots of what happens in rooms, and I encourage viewers and broadcasters to do the same. Broadcasters are even getting PMs from trolls telling them that certain viewers are "recording" their shows and encouraging them to kick them from their rooms. I have seen even dark purple tippers banned outright without them saying a word in chat. When viewers ask what happened, the unwitting cammer says he was "told" the viewer was recording their show. Moderators are being removed and sometimes banned as well....on the "advice" of these trolls. This happens in mostly newbie guys rooms, but it is happening more often than we tippers like to see. I have seen trolls who cannot PM say stupid shit in chat, against others in the room, including moderators we know are good guys.
Again, I encourage viewers, mods and cammers to take a moment to screenshot and send CB support@chaturbate.com what is happening. If they get flooded with complaints, they will have to find an effective way to mitigate this bullshit that is affecting their bottom line. When I see this shit go on, i stop tipping and log off. I know others who feel the same way.
And to the troll....and you know who you are. There is NO need for this petty, stupid shit on CB. Maybe you get a kick out of messing with shows to gain attention, or just like fucking with mods, or you perceive power in disruptive behaviors or just have too much time on your hands and no dick....stop the shit already. It is childish, and a waste of everyone's time.
At the end of the day, we are on CB to enjoy the shows and tip our favorite guys/girls.

Yes there is some strong language which I can live w/o but there isn't anything overly vulgar or remotely repulsive, if there was I'd have removed it yesterday when I first saw it.

Other ways for camguys to protect themselves is to check a user's profile before they get too friendly or give them moderator privileges. A real Chaturbate user will have an established profile with followers & details about themselves most likely.
